The Experience
Most people who book with me have never done anything like this. Here's exactly what to expect, so there are no surprises.
We talk by phone, video or coffee before anything is booked. You tell me what you're hoping for and what you're nervous about. There's no obligation.
Clothed, partly clothed or nude. We agree on it before the session, and you can change your mind at any moment, in either direction.
Around two hours in a private space. Music you like, time to settle in, and plenty of breaks. I'll guide you through every pose, so you never have to know what to do.
About two weeks later you get a private online gallery of finished images. Nothing is shared publicly without your written permission.
Sessions
That's who I most want to photograph. You don't need to be confident walking in. Most people relax within the first twenty minutes, once they see how slow and low-pressure it is.
Everyone: women, men, non-binary and trans people, every age over 18, every size and shape. Individuals and couples are both welcome, whether you're romantic partners or close friends.
No. My portraits aren't the business-headshot or graduation kind. They're for people who want to express something about who they are. If that's you, have a look at Beautifully Imperfect.
No. Plenty of sessions stay clothed or partly clothed. Nudity is only ever your choice, agreed beforehand, and you can stop or change direction at any time.
Yes. A partner or friend is welcome to come along, as long as you're comfortable with them being there.
Only with your written permission. Your gallery is private by default. If you're happy for a few images to be shared, we'll agree on exactly which ones, and you can change your mind later.
Yes, lightly. I adjust light, tone and contrast, and I'll remove temporary things like a pimple or a small blemish. Sometimes I'll brighten or soften part of an image to make the picture better. I don't reshape bodies or erase the things that make you you, like scars, stretch marks, wrinkles or softness. If there's something specific you'd like left alone or gently softened, just tell me.
Whatever feels like you: a favorite sweater, an old shirt, jewelry that means something. Plain, dark or neutral pieces photograph beautifully. We'll talk it through before the day.
Adults 18 and over. I ask everyone to show photo ID at the session and to sign a simple agreement covering how the images can be used.
