Beautifully imperfect.

Nobody thinks they're perfect. Most of us spend a lot of energy hiding the proof. This series is about putting that down for an hour and being seen exactly as you are.

What this is

Beautifully Imperfect is an ongoing series of portraits of real people: the scars, the softness, the grey hair, the stretch marks, the tattoos, the stories. Clothed, partly clothed or nude, in whatever way feels true to you. Open to every gender, age and body, on your own or as a couple.

It's a collaboration. You bring who you are and what you want to say. I bring the light, the patience and a quiet room. Together we make something honest, and often more beautiful than you expected.

This is for you if…

You want to express something about yourself, not just get a nice picture
You're tired of hiding parts of yourself
You've lived through something your body remembers
You've never thought of yourself as a model and want to find out what happens anyway
You want to celebrate a body that's changed: age, illness, pregnancy, surgery, weight, time

This isn't the place for…

Headshots or business portraits
Senior or graduation photos
Family, engagement or event photography
Glamour or model portfolio shoots

Nothing wrong with any of those. There are wonderful photographers for them. This is something different.

How it works

We talk

If it feels like a fit, we have a conversation about what you'd like to express, what you're comfortable with, and how the images might be shared.

The session

Unhurried, private, and at your pace. You can change your mind about anything at any time.

Your images, and the series

You receive a private gallery of your finished images. Together we choose which, if any, become part of the public series, and you approve every one before it's shared.

What it costs

Beautifully Imperfect isn't run like a regular photography business. Sessions in the series are offered at a reduced rate, and sometimes at no cost, depending on the story and the season.

Every session is held with a $___ deposit. It's returned or applied to your session when you show up, so it only costs you anything if you don't. It just means we're both committed.
